Ulstein Verft reports that the sea trials of the 'NG Endurance' have been successfully carried out, and the polar vessel will return to the Ulstein yard for the final construction phase before setting off to the Arctic.

The sea trials were comprehensive and included tests of the propulsion and navigation systems and emergency manoeuvres such as a live test of the Safe Return To Port requirements. During the sea trial, people from several disciplines within Ulstein such as design, engineering and project management, worked closely with the site team and captains of operator Lindblad Expeditions. In the concluding part of the sea trial, the ship owner crew will have ample time to operate the vessel alone.

The National Geographic Endurance is Lindblad Expeditions' first polar newbuild, and was designed by Ulstein Design & Solutions.
