RENK PLANS REMODELING OF ITS AUGSBURG PLANT

Friday, May 1, 2020

Transmission company Renk has embarked on the implementation of a large-scale investment package, amounting to several tens of millions of euros, ins order to boost production capacities at the Augsburg location.

The company’s expansion plans require larger mechanical fabrication, assembly, and test rig capacities than are currently available in the present building, so the decision was made to expand the assembly area by constructing a new building. At the same time Renk and its associated company Renk Test System, which is based at the same locations, are making the test rigs more modern and flexible.

The new building will be on two floors in order to improve the use of space, and will focus on technology and sustainability in its construction, being heated and cooled almost entirely by an environmentally friendly brine/water heat pump system, allowing the near-elimination of fossil fuel use.
