RAL TO DESIGN INDONESIAN TUGS

PT Graha Trisaka Industri, an affiliate company of PaxOcean Group of Singapore has awarded tug design contracts to Canadian ship designer Robert Allan Ltd (RAL) for two tug types, RAmparts 3200-W and TRAktor 3200-V.

The PT Graha Trisaka shipyard is in Batam, Indonesia. The contract covers five tugs, for delivery in the fourth quater of 2022. PaxOcean and RAL have worked together successfully on a number of projects including a dual fuel tug design, RAmparts 2800-DF, for PSA Marine, Singapore. Four other RAL TRAktor 3200-V tugs for Formosa Chemistry and CPC Corporation respectively are also under construction at the same shipyard.

The tugs will be operated by Taiwan Navigation Co under a long-term charter contract for CPC Corporation, Taiwan. They will be designed and constructed to dual Class, CR and ABS, for operation at the Taoyuan LNG Terminal in Taiwan.
