The German Design Council has honored the market launch of the PBST turbocharger brand with the German Brand Award 2020 in the category 'Excellence in Brand Strategy and Creation - Corporate Identity'.

Ralph Klaunig, VP and Head of Sales and License, Turbochargers and Exhaust Gas Treatment,said: “As a young brand, we are very happy to have won the German Brand Award because an independent jury confirms our strategy. We combine tradition and modernity with PBST. Because even if the brand is still young, its roots go back to 1957. ”

PBST's origins are in the Czech turbocharger manufacturer PBS Turbo, which has developed, built and sold turbochargers for over 60 years. It was part of MAN for several years, but recently MAN Energy Solutions relaunched its turbocharger division under the PBST brand, which included the former MAN turbochargers as well as the former PBS range. At the same time PBST expanded its product portfolio to offer holistic solutions through coordinated air management systems. With the trend towards greater efficiency and environmental friendliness in large engines in mind, PBST offers advanced exhaust gas aftertreatment systems.

"With the introduction of the PBST brand, we are more flexible and offer a wider range of products, such as two-stage turbocharging or exhaust gas aftertreatment systems," said Klaunig. “For a strong brand, acceptance in the market is of course particularly important: my current sales activities make me very confident. I would therefore like to thank all of our colleagues and our partners for their efforts. Because they all make our brand come alive. ”
