The expedition cruise vessel Ocean Odyssey, an Ulstein CX103 design, and latest in a series of cruise vessels contracted by the US-based SunStone Ships, has been successfully launched at the CMHI Haimen yard.

The Ocean Odyssey marks charterer Vantage Cruise Line's second entry into ocean expedition cruising, being the sister ship to the 2021 delivery Ocean Explorer.

Scheduled to debut in 2022, the 162-passenger vessel will sail on worldwide itineraries.

The 104.4m cruise ship is built to the ice-strengthened, Polar Class 6, standards, allowing for deeper exploration into polar areas. It comes with the Ulstein X-Bow technology which provides smoother sailing in rough seas, enhancing passenger and crew comfort. It comes with environmentally friendly standards with reduced emissions into air and sea, with low energy consumption, and runs on low-sulphur marine gas oil.

In addition to the ship design and site follow-up, Ulstein's scope of delivery includes an extensive equipment package comprising IAS (Integrated Automation System), PMS (Power Management System), power package (switchboards, bow thruster starters, drives), bridge and navigation equipment, and Ulstein Com (Internet, TV, telephone, PA system).
