Design software company NAPA of Finland has released the first of two 2021 releases, focusing on improved usability and user experience with a completely new licensing technology, which applies to all NAPA products.

The next release will focus on functionality development. The new licensing is based on the WIBU System’s CodeMeter technology, which has been in use previusly with NAPA Drafting, NAPA Drafting Plugin for AutoCAD and NAPA parallel damage stability calculation. The new technology improves license flexibility, eases license management and upgrades the whole NAPA experience.

To allow smooth transition to the new licensing, NAPA will patch older versions (up to 2015.4) during the second half of 2021 to support the new technology.

Other important updates in NAPA 2021.1 include an upgraded NAPA Server Database solution, meaninng that NAPA, NAPA Designer and NAPA Drafting have been updated to support the newer version of NAPA ServerDB. The applications can still operate with older versions of NAPA ServerDB but it is recommended to update to the new version. All NAPA 2019-2020 versions have been also patched to support the new NAPA ServerDB version, together with the new licensing technology updates. NAPA Drafting contains several improvements to functionality, including the improved annotations and drawing details. The upgrade includes some critical error corrections and improvements.
