German cruise ship builder Meyer Werft says that the 'Spirit of Adventure', the second new cruise ship for the UK's Saga Cruises, has left the yard's covered building dock I (hall 5).

During the floating out process, the funnel was lifted onto the ship by crane and mounted. The ship was then subjected to various tests, prior to berthing at the outfitting pier.

During the coming weeks, more tests will be executed at the outfitting pier. In August the ship is scheduled to start her passage on the River Ems to the port of Emden to begin sea trials.

The 58,250 gt cruise ship has an overall length of 236m and a breadth of 31.2m. It has 554 cabins for 999 passengers and reaches a speed of more than 18 knots.
