"K" LINE PROMOTES CARBON NEUTRALITY STRATEGY

Tuesday, March 9, 2021

Japanese shipping company Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha ("K" Line) is to establish a new department focusing on businesses and projects for carbon neutrality including renewable energy.

The company says that the requirement of decarbonisation is rapidly growing in importance and it accelerates the expectation for carbon neutrality in its business operations. Renewable energy projects including offshore wind, CO2 capture, utilisation and storage projects, energy transition projects (LNG value chain related) and carbon emission trading will all feature in the programme.

For the purpose of proactively responding to these needs, “K” Line is establishing its own Carbon Neutral Promotion Group to facilitate business development for net-zero CO2 emission along with related parties and companies in the “K” Line group.

The group says it will continue to contribute global prosperity as an integrated logistics company grown from its shipping business, with the aim of realising a sustainable society.
