"K"-LINE EXTENDS OPIMISATION SYSTEM TO CHARTERED SHIPS

Wednesday, January 6, 2021

Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha ("K"-Line) has now started installation of its integrated ship operation and performance management system 'Kawasaki Integrated Maritime Solutions' on chartered vessels, following its incorporation on the owned and managed fleet.

The system, released in 2016 ,has been installed on about 140 vessels, mainly owned by the Japanese company. It has a variety of smartphone and PC applications that are used for early detection of abnormalities with live data monitoring, performance analysis to maintain and manage fuel efficiency, and optimum navigation support to maintain safe and economical routing.

From now on, 'big data' and information obtained by the system from each vessel will be shared with the ship owner and ship manager through a common platform in the cloud and can be monitored with multiple eyes to accelerate enhanced vessel operation and management.

The expansion will allow "K” Line to ensure safe, environment-friendly, more solid and highly qualified operation across its fleet.
