The new Holland America Line 'Rotterdam' cruise ship has been launched at Fincantieri's Marghera (Venice) shipyard, prior to fitting-out and scheduled delivery in summer 2021.

The new unit, sister to Koningsdam and Nieuw Statendam, 'Pinnacle' class ships delivered respectively in March 2016 and 2018 from the same shipyard, is the 14th ship built for the Carnival brand by the Marghera shipyard. She will be about 99,800gt, almost 300m long, with accommodation for 2,668 passengers in 1,340 cabins. Rotterdam’s technology is aimed at optimising energy efficiency and minimising environmental impact, with respect to demanding current safety regulations.
