CSA - FRANCE SHOULD WAIT FOR IMO ON SCRUBBER DISCHARGE

The Clean Shipping Alliance has expressed its disappointment at a recent announcement by the French Maritime Administration to prohibit discharge from open-loop exhaust gas cleaning systems (EGCS, or 'scrubbers') within three nautical miles from the shore in all French territorial waters

The CSA believes that the decision was not science-based, as no data or credible evidence is presented;  it’s also well-known that the IMO is already embarked in an evaluation process for the suitability of any further regulation of EGCS.
