CHINESE INSTITUTE EXPANDS MARINE BUSINESS WITH RINA HELP

CRRC ZhuZhou Institute (CRRC) and Italian classification society RINA have signed a Framework Agreement in Shanghai, under which RINA will support the development of new projects within the expanding marine business of CRRC, providing services related to quality certification, inspection, training, engineering design, ship equipment, technical consultation, market project cooperation, and noise and vibration reduction technologies.

CRRC's background is in other transport sectors, notably in the manufacturing of rail transit key equipment, technology for vibration and noise reduction. The institute has a powerful independent R&D and innovation capability that will be applied to the key marine projects. RINA, using its experience in passenger vessels, will share with CRRC its highly specialised technical know-how in that field.

At the signing ceremony in our offices in Shanghai, Mario Moretti, RINA Asia Marine Senior Director, and Mr Chen Jian, Deputy GM, CRRC, expressed reciprocal high esteem and intention to further develop their cooperation in the future.
