At a recent ceremony at the shipyard, steel cutting began for the first of a pair of TRAktor V-3200 tugboats designed by Robert Allan Ltd (RAL) of Canada.

The tugs are being built at PT Graha Trisaka Industri, in Batam, Indonesia, for the China Petroleum Cooperation (CPC), of Taiwan. The shipyard, with support from RAL, was awarded the construction contract by CPC following an international bid process. The custom designed tugs will operate at the CPC LNG terminal at Shenao in Taiwan after delivery.

RAL's TRAktor V designation applies to Voith-propelled tugs designed for harbour, offshore terminal, or tanker escort duties.

The new vessels are designed to comply with the Chinese Classification Society with the notation CR100+E Tug, Fire-Fighting Ship 1, Coastal Service CMS+.
